Auxiliary Sisters
I want to thank the Auxiliary and Post members who helped with the Buddy Poppy Sales: Candy Bohjanen-Hammitt, Daryl and Brenda Tvrdik, Nancy Ost and Cam Loch. We had 4 places that we collected donations: Post Office, Pete’s County Market, Mills Fleet Farm and Plaza Discount Liquors. The Card sales went really good. There are 225 Buddy Poppy Cards around town and close to Alexandria. If you are in a business that has a Buddy Poppy Card please thank them for supporting our Veterans. Business were very generous in supporting our Veterans and we need to let them know we appreciate it.
We voted to put an American flag and stand in the chapel at Knute Nelson Home. They share with Grand Arbor and now they will both have one.
The web for the VFW has changed to: www.alexandriavfw.org. It is up and running, so be sure to check it out. Since we have the web site if you do not want to receive the newsletter in the mail let me know or call the Post and tell them.
We are looking for new members. Remember you can join under your father, grandfather, brother or sister. Any questions call me. Being a member is a great way of honoring your loved ones.

We have decided to change the date for our Salad Luncheon. It will be on Tuesday, July 29 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. We will be making the salads in the Post kitchen. We cannot bring made salads in or bars. We are going to need Auxiliary Sisters to help make salads and donate money to pay for the cost of the ingredients. Thank you for helping make this a successful fund raiser for cancer aid and research and help with our cancer fund.
Dates to remember: Auxiliary meetings 2nd Monday at 630 PM at Post (This is every month) Department Convention June 4-8, 2014 in St. Cloud ***July 29 from 1100 AM to 1:00 PM Salad Luncheon at the Post
